eeePC and Wings

Postby ThomasLeong on Tue Apr 29, 2008 1:19 pm

hehe...just bought the black eeePC 701 model and few minutes ago managed to configure my home wireless router to accept it...so I'm online with the eeePC!!!...typing on it right this moment.

Intention of purchase of course is for travel, 'cos my golf assignments for the Asian Tour will be pretty hectic from August on. I've upgraded the RAM to 1GB, and eventually hope to change the Linux OS to a stripped down XP 'cos this Linux cannot access that 1GB. Then shall try to load Wings 3.x and see how it goes with this Celeron procesor and onboard GMA950 graphics. Not expecting much, but if Wings will load then at least I can experiment and test things when I'm on the road, and maybe even use it for simple single screen presentations if required.

The eeePC being only 2lbs, now permits me to leave my 2kg+ ASUS 14" laptop at home when I'm on the road for golf work. That would be a load off these wee shoulders!
